To conclude their residency at the Dijon Opera, Emmanuelle Haim and Le Concert d’Astrée invite us to a festive concert full of surprises! The details are still secret for this programme celebrating 12 years of concerts and operas at Dijon, because the ensemble and its conductor always love to surprise and amaze. Two names, however, have filtered through, two names that have closely accompanied these years of residency at Dijon. The first is Handel, the London-based master of all virtuosities and inventions, who never runs short of astonishing musical ideas! And for the second, how could we not pay homage to our own native son? Rameau will therefore be included on the programme, Rameau with his subtle and unexpected harmonies that suddenly quicken the heart and soul, Rameau with his dense and colourful orchestral pallet deploying an expressive range of incomparable richness, Rameau and his architecture both grand yet full of the unexpected.
