Mini Symphonie #1

Orchestre Dijon Bourgogne & Orchestre Symphonique de Mâcon
about

from age 8

Feel like going on a fascinating promenade through remarkable sonic landscapes? The Orchestre Dijon Bourgogne and the Orchestre Symphonique de Mâcon join their talents to offer you a unique concert format for the entire family, for young and old.

Imagine two orchestras, the Orchestre Dijon Bourgogne and the Orchestre Symphonique de Mâcon, in the company of the conductor David Hurpeau and the narrator Thierry Weber, whose voice guides you into a spellbinding sonic universe. You are invited to discover how certain instruments of the orchestra are best able to render a thunderous storm or tornado, others particularly adept at illustrating floral or woodland motifs, and others still best suited for bubbling aquatic or mysterious ethereal atmospheres. In Symphonie écologique by André Popp, who some may know thanks to Piccolo, Saxo & Cie, the music portrays the earth, the elements, the hubbub of humans, and the rebirth of flowers in the spring. In L’Apprenti sorcier, the symphonic poem by Paul Dukas that many first discovered in Walt Disney’s Fantasia, the orchestra tells the story of a young sorcerer’s apprentice who tries but fails to control his spell, leading to an unstoppable flood...
