Orchestre National de France
Happy New Year! What better way to kick off the year than with a night on Broadway? With all the sparkle, swing and sheer fun of musical theatre, this glittering selection of Broadway favourites sets the tone for the perfect New Year’s resolution: keep the swing alive!
A regular and much-loved presence on the Dijon Opera stage, the Orchestre National de France joins forces with conductor Enrique Mazzola and the finest young talents from the academy of the Lyric Opera of Chicago for an exceptional program of vocal and symphonic highlights.
The programme brings together gems from the golden age of musical theatre—from Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun to Richard Rodgers’s Carousel—alongside the genius of Leonard Bernstein, from Cunegonde’s sparkling exuberance in Candide to Dinah’s irresistible wit in Trouble in Tahiti, not to mention the unforgettable West Side Story. And then there’s his longtime collaborator Stephen Sondheim, whose extraordinary feel for rhythm shines through in Marry Me a Little.
And with Kismet, inspired by Borodin’s music and the magic of the Arabian Nights, the evening takes us even further into a dazzling world of fantasy and enchantment…
