Structure Souffle

Myriam Gourfink

Myriam Gourfink explores her inspiration to generate a choreographic structure for eight dancers: a proposition that reinvents new forms of choreographic expression, where breathing becomes an act of absolute mastery and daring. Relying on yoga techniques and the composition of choreographic scores, Myriam Gourfink has imagined an experiment to show how the elasticity of breathing at cellular level engenders a soft and sensitive connection between the performers. This relational quality induced by breath provides a counterweight: it is all a question of balance between the eight dancers, who interact in a slow, suspended temporality to the rhythm of their breathing cycles.
