Anouar Brahem Quartet
The Opéra de Dijon is delighted to host once again Anouar Brahem, one of the most famous ambassadors of the oud, who along with his Quartet will celebrate in music the great Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwich.
The evening’s program will be made up of excerpts from "The Astounding Eyes of Rita", an album dedicated to the famous Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwich. Surrounded by his faithful travelling companions, Klaus Gesing, Björn Meyer and Khaled Yassine, Anouar Brahem gives musical voice to the words of the poet to create heady themes, where lyricism and melancholy conjugate. One is immediately struck by the rare complicity between these four virtuoso artists, an affinity of timbre and inspiration, but above all a voyage through poetry, Middle Eastern music and jazz.
