D'après une histoire vraie
Driven by pulsating and percussive music, D’après une histoire vraie reveals the physical and mental states of a group of male dancers: a show between solidarity and vulnerability, strength and tenderness.
D’après une histoire vraie takes inspiration from the memory of an improvised performance by a group of male dancers that Christian Rizzo saw in Istanbul. In revisiting this memory, by adding the rhythms and sonic atmosphere produced by two sets of persistent drums, the artist reinvents it and turns it into a reworked hybrid choreography. Drawing from categories as diverse as traditional Mediterranean folklore, rock music, contemporary dance, tribal ritual and spiritual music, D’après une histoire vraie resonates with its own masculinity, expressed in a way that defies all convention.
