Dream House Quartet
Having already captivated Dijon audiences with Bryce Dessner’s El Chan in June 2022, Katia and Marielle Labèque return with the Dream House Quartet, a rather unique formation whose sonic alchemy brings together a wide range of musical cultures.
Since 2018, the Dream House Quartet has been engaged in an adventure of singular originality and fertility in the contemporary landscape, blending its mastery of the classical heritage with a bold exploration of today’s diverse musical pathways. Insatiable musicians, strongly attached to contemporary creation, which they continue to actively support, Katia and Marielle Labèque maintain a special relationship with Bryce Dessner, whose works for two pianos they have recorded. Founder of the rock group The National, the latter is already an icon of an entire culture of sonic exploration. As a guitarist-composer, he has found an alter ego in David Chalmin, a remarkable arranger, whose talents found full expression in the 2019 album La Terre invisible. Ready for any and all experimentation, mixing acoustic and electronic virtuosity, these four musicians promote a form of creativity that defies all categories, remaining as impossible to classify as it is immediately seductive.
