Il Cimento dell’Armonia e dell’Inventione

This new creation mixes the rarified universe of the choreographer with the virtuosity of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Radouan Mriziga seek to turn Vivaldi’s most canonic work into a privileged domain for dance, at a time when the seasons disappear, when the destruction of the environment, the loss of biodiversity, and climate change sever our connection with nature. The choreographic writing captures the deep emotion of Vivaldi’s music, performed in a superb version by Amandine Beyer and the ensemble Gli Incogniti. The result is a choreographic work that pays homage to a score that could well summarize, by its sonic acuity and the force of its mimetic play, all the dreams of harmony between humanity and the environment in which we live.
