The Dijon Opera is joining forces with La Minoterie and the Théâtre Dijon Bourgogne, Centre Dramatique National, for the latest production by Compagnie Les Bas-bleus. The project features an exclusive recording by the Dijon Opera Choir, set to original music by Sébastien Troester. Come and discover it at La Minoterie!
For her latest creation, writer, director, and set designer Séverine Coulon has joined forces with Léa Pageot, a young illustrator and recent graduate of the Haute École des Arts du Rhin. Together, they grapple with the themes of isolation and the dilemma of whether to “leave or stay”. Exploring ideas of emancipation, choice and constraint, power, and the barriers that divide social classes and cultures, the project celebrates curiosity as a way of staying open to the world and to one another.
True to their evocative style of theatre, they create a thoroughly contemporary story through a dynamic set and a recorded singing chorus. Performed by two actors, the production is bilingual, in French and French Sign Language. The company continues its commitment to making theatre genuinely welcoming and accessible to everyone, regardless of disability, thanks in particular to the ongoing presence of a dedicated accessibility coordinator.
