Via Injabulo

Via Injabulo, joy in Zulu !
The company Via Katlehong joins forces with Marco da Silva Ferreira and Amala Dianor on two works that plunge deep into Pantsula culture: a collaboration under the sign of liberation, memory and the reappropriation of the body.

Born in the townships of South Africa, Pantsula is a counter-culture and street dance progressively sublimated into total artistic expression. It represents a desire for freedom that extends past the affirmation of identities inscribed in the counter-history of segregation and assignations, but above all an explosive desire for rhythms and dances, at times in rubber boots, the symbol of South African miners. Founded in East Rand, Via Katlehong has created two choreographic works, entrusted to Amala Dianor and Marco da Silva Ferreira. The first, Emaphakathini, explores the spaces between two bodies and identities. The second, førm Inførms, transposes on stage the memories and past sufferance of disarticulated bodies.
