In the context of the Music in the City Festival
The violin and the cornetto, two dazzlingly versatile instruments capable of extraordinary virtuosity, went head-to-head in 17th century music, championed by some of the era’s most brilliant composers and performers. Drawing on a wealth of historical sources, the musicians bring this fascinating rivalry to life — a story where the sublime meets the ridiculous, and the pursuit of perfection can take some unexpected turns. Step into the musical world of 17th century Venice in this lively and delightfully irreverent performance!
Visit the Traversées Baroques website to see the festival’s full program.
