Frescoes

ANNULÉ | Dvořák | Janáček | Martinů
Spectacle annulé

Dans l’attente des nouvelles annonces gouvernementales, l’Opéra de Dijon est contraint d’annuler ce spectacle. Informations

One cannot imagine the arrival of the Czech Virtuosi at Dijon without fully benefiting from their presence and their intimate understanding of the music of their country. Once again, they propose to take us on a deep dive into Czech music through three of its four greatest composers. In Dvořák’s loving evocation of nature, a lyric hymn to the forests and landscapes of Bohemia, we find joy and jubilation in pantheistic communion with the whole of nature. This sentiment lies also at heart of The Cunning little vixen, a grand ode to the cycle of life and nature. The orchestral suite from the opera provides the poetic quintessence of the adventures of Sharp Ears, with irresistible orchestral richness and invention. It was during a visit to Arezzo that Martinů first saw the Frescoes of Piero della Francesca that would inspire his masterpiece of the same name, an extraordinary score from a composer at the height of his power.
