Hora

Batsheva Dance Company - ANNULÉ

En raison des restrictions de circulation liées à la crise sanitaire, le spectacle Hora est annulé.

CREATED at the Jerusalem Theater, Israel, May 18, 2009

With Hora, the choreographer Ohad Naharin continues to push the limits of a work open to all that is human, to the influences of all culture, all art, all manner of movement. "Hora is the name of a folk dance in Israel that is highly symbolic, because it reflects the joyous celebrations of the first pioneers." In a minimalist stage set — a laboratory perhaps ? — Naharin deploys accelerated movements, suspended phrases, broken sequences, disjointed positions, in a climactic succession of unrelenting energy. His most abstract score to date — with plenty of nods to his other ballets that are sure to delight connoisseurs, yet without damping the experience of the neophyte — Hora is an invitation to openness and to the pure joy of dance.
