Ciné-concert Méliès

Les Traversées Baroques
about

Ages 5 and up

Le Voyage à travers l’impossible
and Le Royaume des fées, two cinematographic gems, are given the place of honour in this show based on a creation by Étienne Meyer.

A joyous musical dive into the magic and genius of Méliès! It was at the start of the 20th century that Georges Méliès produced his short films in his studio located in the Paris region: double-exposures, crossfades, stop-action, history’s first special effects, all the new tricks of cinema can be found here, to tell these fantastic stories. For this marvellously magical voyage into the core of the sun and the depths of the ocean, Étienne Meyer and the musicians of Les Traversées Baroques have designed a show that goes far beyond the traditional cinema-concert. He invites the filmmaker’s great-grandson, for a moving encounter with the descendants of the explorers and adventurers invented by his ancestor. A highly original show to discover the incredible universe of the fabulous enchanter Méliès !
