Le Lac des cygnes
Swan Lake, Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece, is choreographed by Angelin Preljocaj in a version perfectly balanced between homage and pure innovation.
After the success of Blanche Neige and Romeo et Juliette, Angelin Preljocaj reconnects with his penchant for choreographic storytelling. In this version of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, he modifies certain characters of the tale and adapts the score to turn it into a complete traversal of the composer’s work. As modern as it is personal, his version of this immortal myth of the woman-bird, of this hymn to winged love between Prince Siegfried and Odette, completely transforms the choreography of Marius Petipa into a gesture of incarnation. It is a reading both faithful to the spirit of this timeless classic and profoundly innovative in its aesthetic, and its capacity to question the ghosts of our contemporary world.
