International Composition Competition for Young Audiences
The 2nd edition of the Besançon International Composition Competition for Young Audiences is now open!
In partnership with 12 European orchestras and opera companies, including the Dijon Opera, this competition—open to composers aged 18 and older—aims to refresh the repertoire of original works designed to foster musical awareness and artistic appreciation among children and teenagers.
In 2024, Japanese-born composer Haru Shionoya won the Grand Prix for her musical tale “Momo, the Peach Child,” performed by the Victor Hugo Orchestra.
Applications are open until Monday, June 15, 2026.
