Over a remarkable career spanning more than a quarter century, Cohen has brought his elegant playing and keen sense of swing to a variety of ensembles, while remaining loyal to the trio, the driving force of his compositions. Piano, bass and drums lie at the heart of his jazz, which is both ambitious and accessible, guided by a flair for melody and a taste for complex rhythms. Initially trained in piano and classical music as a child, Cohen has always nourished his music through travel, curiosity, and constant attention to younger generations. The musicians accompanying him are likewise destined for a bright future, including Shai Maestro and Mark Guiliana.
