Celebrated worldwide for her 1958 recording of the standard Fever, Peggy Lee was an essential singer and songwriter in American jazz over a remarkable 60-year career. A true star in the United States, her path intertwined with the golden era of orchestral jazz and Hollywood — she appeared in several films and composed music for others, including Disney’s classic Lady and the Tramp — yet she remains less known in France. This gap is filled by Tania Ivanov’s vibrant jazz sextet, whose smooth vocals and raw energy perfectly suit a repertoire where swing reigns supreme. In counterpoint to this pioneering artist’s journey, the Dijon Opera Choir will delight the audience with jazz standards that have left an indelible mark on the genre.
