Victor Hugo Orchestra & Dijon Opera Choir
The Orchestre Victor Hugo, the symphony orchestra of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, and the Dijon Opera Chorus come together for a contemplative and powerful concert featuring masterpieces by Mozart, Poulenc, and Fauré.
Each year, the Orchestre Victor Hugo, conducted by Jean-François Verdier, creates a special programme for the Dijon Opera, and this time they are joined by the Dijon Opera Choir. This season, three composers come together under the banner of radiant fervour: a tender, gentle aria by Mozart is paired with one of his symphonies filled with great hope for the future.
Next, we turn to Poulenc’s Stabat Mater, a deeply moving work that celebrates a mother’s universal love, balancing moments of rare grace and drama. To close the concert, the musicians offer Fauré’s Cantique de Jean Racine, a short piece filled with serenity and light.
