Orchestre Français des Jeunes
The Orchestre Français des Jeunes returns to the Dijon Opera with two sweeping musical epics. This is a chance to hear the finest young talents of the new French generation, alongside cello prodigy Edgar Moreau.
Back at the Dijon Opera for a third season in residence, the Orchestre Français des Jeunes invites us to experience the infectious energy that has made its concerts so memorable. Under the direction of Kristiina Poska, this programme is sure to expand on that reputation, opening with Exodus by Estonian composer Erkki-Sven Tüür, a sweeping work for large orchestra charged with visceral passion. It is followed by Richard Strauss’s Also sprach Zarathustra, the symphonic poem made famous in Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Between the two, Elgar’s Cello Concerto will be brought to life by one of France’s most dazzling virtuoso artists, Edgar Moreau. Together, these three works take us on a captivating musical journey, from epic grandeur to elegiac beauty, with every note drawing us in while sweeping us away.
