Richard Galliano
Led by the accordionist Richard Galliano, the New York Tango Trio pays vibrant homage to the composer Astor Piazzolla. Traversing the traditions of jazz, tango and new musette, this is a musical encounter in the grand style.
Travel companion of some of the greatest singers, a monument of French jazz, the accordionist Richard Galliano is also the inventor of new musette, a creation that he owes to a meeting with Astor Piazzolla in 1980. In an album released in 2022, accompanied by Adrien Moignard on the guitar and Diego Imbert on bass, Richard Galliano revisits the works of Piazzolla and juxtaposes them with his own compositions. The result is a dialogue that is always amicable, in which we sense the common identity of jazz, tango and musette: ties with dance, strong melodies and sophisticated rhythms and harmonies. As with jazz, the approach often takes off beyond the written page but remains ever true to the intention.
+ After the concert, there will be a signing session on the stand Oh! Des disques! .
