Gulliver’s Travels

Ensemble Artifices
presentation

From 4 years old

For this journey into a magical world, children and adults alike are invited on stage to join  two violinists and an actor, who will guide them through an enchanting adventure, with a story and music straight from the Age of Enlightenment.

Aboard a ship, Gulliver is shipwrecked on an unknown island during a storm. He awakens as a prisoner of the Lilliputians, a tiny people who eventually welcome him after ensuring his goodwill. Adapted for children by Daniel Defoe, famous for Robinson Crusoe, Jonathan Swift’s adventure fantasy is brought to life with music composed for two violins by Georg Philipp Telemann during the same period.

To the rhythm of this captivating and imaginative score, the exquisite instruments of Alice Julien-Laferrière and Anaëlle Blanc-Verdin engage in a lively dialogue with actor Malo de La Tullaye, in an interactive performance full of surprises for everyone.
