Passages
A nomadic work by choreographer Noé Soulier, Passages explores the relationship between the movement of bodies and the spaces they inhabit— in this case, the Auditorium foyer.
Following a vocabulary of movement that Noé Soulier has been patiently developing and refining for several years, Passages is rooted in the exploration of everyday actions that channel the body’s energy. By redirecting these actions towards absent or imagined objects, the choreographer creates a dance in which gestures generate shifts in intensity and bring out the many dimensions of the spaces they inhabit. The work is made up of modules designed to respond to different types of space: the echoes of bodies beneath the vaulted ceilings of La Conciergerie in Paris, the crunch of gravel and the song of cicadas in the gardens of the Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul-de-Vence. In Dijon, the dancers will make the Auditorium foyer their own, allowing its sweeping curves and generous volumes to become a landscape in motion, where bodies, gestures and space enter into a poetic dialogue.
